On 15 December 2023, we celebrated the successful completion of the Automatic Inspection Vehicle (RAIV) project with a wonderful closing ceremony at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI). Prof. Dr. Azman Bin Yusof, whose vision and support were instrumental in making this project a success. A special shoutout also goes to Mr. Shukri Mohamed Salleh, an inspiring lecturer in Railway Systems, for his leadership and dedication throughout this journey.

Using the latest and greatest in AI deep learning technologies—Wolfram Mathematica and the ONNX platform—we developed an innovative AI module for their Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system. Our solution performs real-time analysis on data collected from SHM modules, auto-classifying defect modes with impressive speed and accuracy. It’s like giving the system its own super-smart detective!

We had a blast applying deep-learning neural networks, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), which allowed the system to learn and improve with each new piece of data. The project wrapped up swiftly and successfully, showcasing what can be achieved when innovation meets collaboration. We are truly honored to have contributed to this groundbreaking initiative and are excited about the future possibilities this partnership holds.
